Our August Chapter Meeting is coming up. Please join us to learn what’s going on with the First Coast Chapter of the Surfrider Foundation, lend a hand, and steer the chapter in the right direction. Surfrider doesn’t exist without your support.
Where: Surf Station
When: Tuesday, August 16, 2011 @ 7pm
-Lowry Shuler will speak about the environmental and economic benefits of energy efficiency
-Upcoming beach cleanups 8/20: We will be cleaning up in Jax Beach as well as St. Augustine Beach (due to skipping this past month’s beach cleanup). We hope to see you at one of them!
-We are getting ready to kick off our Ocean Friendly Gardens campaign and are looking for your help and input.
-For anyone that can take community service hours during their work week (or that is available to work some hours during a weekday), we are going to start having weekday beach cleanups.
-SOS/Surfrider End of Summer Bash: We have a location (Rush Street in Jax Beach) and will need some volunteers to help. Also, Sisters of the Sea could use all the help they can get on the day of the Surf Classic (set-up, break down, during event). It is 9/10.
-Black Tie and Baggies 2012: We are starting to think about this event for next year, which is tentatively scheduled for 4/28. We need some volunteers to help us put it together.
